North Alabama Prayer Awakening

Conference Description:

The North Alabama Prayer Awakening is a three-day prayer event seeking a fresh outpouring of God's Holy Spirit and anointed teaching focused on equipping the local church to make prayer their foundation again. It is presented in partnership with the Alabama North District Church of the Nazarene and Jasper First Church of the Nazarene. The simple focus of the Awakening is to pray and to learn about the power of corporate prayer, with the goal that pastors and leaders are given tools to lead their churches to pray. The speaker’s emphasis will be on prayer and their focus on leading God’s Church to pray as a corporate body as well as developing individual prayer warriors. The North Alabama Prayer Awakening conference is thoroughly Wesleyan-Holiness in its perspective and focus, seeking to retain the scripture, tradition, reason and experience to become a holiness movement again. We are also deeply committed to being focused not on a denomination or church affiliation, but rather to emphasize the need for desperation for the church to become one.
This North Alabama Prayer Awakening Conference will take place at Jasper First Church of the Nazarene in Jasper, AL August 9-11, 2018. We pray you will join us for this historic event!

Pastor Corey Jones,
Senior Pastor of Crossroads Tabernacle

Pastor Corey with his wife Beth Ann Jones have been the pastors of Crossroads Tabernacle in Fort Worth, Texas for the past 21 years. In 1999, many of the people coming to Crossroads were battling addictions, strongholds and various problems associated with poverty and eventually they would leave the church without real change. Pastor Corey came to his own crossroad. Discouraged and on the verge of giving up, God led Pastor Corey to visit Christ Tabernacle, in Queens, New York.  At a Tuesday night prayer meeting in Queens, God birthed in Pastor Corey's heart a vision for what prayer could do.  He returned and led the church to begin to cry out to God in prayer.  From a handful of people in 1999 to a houseful now in 2018, God has proved faithful. Today, people from every walk of life and from a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds know that Crossroads Tabernacle is a place where prayers are continually answered and miracles still happen.

Dr. Rob McCorkle,
Fire School Ministries

In 2006 Rob nearly resigned from his church and left the ministry. Encouraged by a few leaders, he left for a seven week sabbatical. During those weeks, Rob experienced an encounter with God that in his words, “wrecked his life in a good way.” Upon returning to his church in the spring of 2007 he shifted the paradigm of his church from being program centered to presence centered. The emphasis was no longer about enticing seekers to come, but seeking for the manifest presence of God’s glory to come. Within a few weeks, the presence of God fell on Crossroads Community Church in Obetz, OH. People were saved, sanctified, healed, delivered, and set free from major strongholds. He began to see the necessity to combine the Word and the Spirit. To put it another way Rob, believes in the message of purity and power. Fire School Ministries has a specific vision of re-digging the wells in the Holiness Movement uniting the message of purity and power. The mission of Fire School Ministries is to challenge pastors, leaders, and churches to replicate the ministry of Jesus and  the primitive New Testament Church as witnessed in the book of Acts.
